What's new in the PDF-XChange Drivers API SDK - Version 4?
- PDF/A 1b Archive Standard now supported
- Your Version 4 license gives you access to the PDF-XChange Viewer - Version 2 SDK - free.
- AES Encryption support added
- Ability to add Headers/Footers
- Now installs as a 'temporary' printer and need not appear in the users Printer List.
- Printer renaming now fully allowed
- n-UP Printing mode - automatically mounts and rescales pages to a single page and calculates correct page positions etc.
- Enhanced visual layout previewer allow you to resize pages via the printer preferences
- Brochure/Booklet Mode print output
- Create Watermarks - previously these had to be created in the UI and could only be applied via the Developers API
- Create Bookmarks - full developer creation via the API now possible
- Problems communicating with a 64 bit ActiveX and a developer's 32 bit application now resolved in 64 bit Windows 'OS's.
- A new Printer instance is created for each print job sent to the PDF-XChange Driver - ensuring PDF output properties/settings integrity is always preserved.
What has changed that will affect your previous PDF-XChange Version 3 code?
The most significant change for developer's regarding coding your application is that we now no longer provide communication to the driver using Escape Codes or Windows Messaging as previously - all communication is now provided via the 32 or 64 bit ActiveX objects provided.
